Yes. Determination, creative thinking, and imagination have all played a part in keeping this unique event alive.
We have to admit, it has been a challenge. Early in March we had the entire festival lineup set, 24 acts from 16 nations. Over 40 nominees already had their airline tickets and lodging reservations. Then, Covid reared its ugly head. International airline flights were cancelled. Borders closed. Our Texas Sounds lineup was blown to pieces. It looked like our labor of love was not going to result in a show this year. But, determination and flexibility prevailed!
SILVER LINING! This gave us an opportunity to feature some American artists. We have people coming from Nashville and New Orleans as well as some fabulous Texans! We also invested in an almost theater-sized projection screen that will be hung at the very front edge of the stage. It is motorized so it can be automatically lowered and raised as needed. It is over 13 feet wide! The front preferred seating row will be just 6 feet from the screen. It will be much like going to a movie theater and sitting down close! Several international acts, those that cannot enter the U.S.A. will perform by streaming and/or video.
SILVER LINING #2! Using streaming and video allows us to squeeze more acts into the hours allotted to us! We can feature more great talent and give our audience an even bigger, fuller experience.
Some of our original international nominees WILL be able to make it. Florian Fox, from Switzerland, is living in Nashville. The Mexican border is scheduled to the door for several great acts September 21. Canada is supposed to open September 31.
We are sure you will love the show this year.
Of course, we will comply with all health and safety recommendations, whatever they may be when the time arrives. If we are forced to allow only advance ticket holders, we will comply. Therefore, we strongly recommend advance ticket purchase. Tickets
Here is our lineup as of this minute. Please keep in mind, this is a fluid situation. We are restricted to whatever the world’s governments decide. The lineup can change. In fact, we are still adding acts!
